VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – For the third straight season, a member of the SWOSU Football season will be playing in a postseason all-star event as senior cornerback 
Trevon Hartfield has been selected to participate in Dream Bowl IV, which will be played on Monday, January 18th at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. 
Hartfield will be in Virginia Beach for events from January 14-18. The Dream Bowl will host a CFL Scouting Combine on January 15 at the Virginia Beach Field House for each of the players participating in the game. The Combine results will be certified for use by the Dream Bowl athletes to get them to the next level. Hartfield is one of seven cornerbacks listed on the 2016 Crusaders roster and he will practice with his team for two days prior to the game. 
In his lone season with the Bulldogs, Hartfield was named a First Team All-Great American Conference selection after leading the league and setting a new conference record with 25 passes defended. He led SWOSU with five interceptions and broke up 20 passes, while also ranking third on the team with 73 tackles. Hartfield also tallied 2.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and 264 yards on 10 kickoff returns for the Bulldogs. After recording 10 tackles and two interceptions against Arkansas Tech, Hartfield was named the GAC Defensive Player of the Week on November 9th and he helped is team finish off the regular with a victory at Northwestern Oklahoma State by recording a career-best 14 tackles. 
"It's an honor to be selected to play in another football game, especially an all-star event like the Dream Bowl," Hartfield said. "I plan on going down there to Virginia Beach and representing not only myself, but also SWOSU Football, my teammates and my school." 
Players selected for the Dream Bowl will receive first-class accommodations along with a full weekend of football and social related activities, which will create a lifetime of memories in their collegiate sendoff game. The Dream Bowl will be played on Martin Luther King, Jr., weekend to honor Martin Luther King's spirit and to recall his motto: "I Have a Dream." The Dream Bowl weekend will incorporate family activities and community involvement to make Virginia Beach a destination for football fans and families alike. 
Hartfield becomes the fourth SWOSU player in the past three years to be selected for an all-star game, joining Ryan Corbin, Jim O'Brien and Brad Smithey. Corbin and O'Brien played in the 2013 National Bowl Game, with Corbin earning the James Pratt Faith & Courage Award, while Smithey played in the 2014 National Bowl Game and the USA College Football Bowl.
